Blog Entry 8 (ECT): Why we need to stop plastic pollution in our oceans.

When we Pollute Plastic into the ocean it causes serious effects on marine life as well as multiple negative impacts on the environment and human health. The harmful toxins and industrial chemicals that enter the oceans get accumulated in the fatty tissues of aquatic fauna and lead to severe damage to their reproductive system.  If we do not stop polluting plastic in the ocean it endangers animals such as sea turtles' seagulls, dolphins, the plastic sometimes gets stuck to their head and chokes them, or the animals accidentally swallow it and die. I looked up how many animals die each year from plastic pollution it was 1 million marine animals including birds, fish, sharks, sea turtles, and more are known to be killed by either ingesting or becoming somehow entangled by plastic pollution.  If we don’t stop plastic pollution in our oceans, the ocean will eventually lose its habitat and our ecosystem will be changed forever. That’s why we should stop plastic pollution from happening so no animals will become extinct or endangered or get hurt. That’s why I chose this topic more people should start caring about taking care of the environment and animals. Here are some helpful tips that I learned that we could prevent plastic pollution from getting into the ocean.

    OMG YESSSS, I despise people who throw their trash anywhere and everywhere! How hard is it to find a trash can and throw it away? Especially trash in the ocean, poor fishes and animals down there.

  In my Cultural Diversity in Education class, we have been discussing many different topics the Impact of changes, The history of Multicultural Education, Race and Bias. The one I found most interesting in are class discussion was being bias.
