The link I posted is just a video that shows what happens to food when it gets wasted.

When food gets wasted it affects the environment in multiple ways. Such as all food production adds greenhouse gases to the atmosphere, and producing excess food uses unnecessary crop land, water and fertilizer. As food rots in landfills, it produces more of the greenhouse gas methane. When I was doing research about how much food gets wasted the percent came up as between 30 to 40 percent of the entire American food supply ends up wasted each year. When food gets wasted it goes to landfills sites where it rots and releases methane, a damaging greenhouse gas the food that gets wasted should be going to homeless shelters or places where people who can't afford to buy food. Instead, it just gets wasted and goes to landfills and rots. We really should do a better job of not wasting food. The cause of food losses and waste in low-income countries are mainly connected to financial, managerial, and technical limitations in harvesting techniques, storage and cooling facilities in difficult climatic conditions, infrastructure, packaging and marketing systems. Some ways we can stop wasting food is Portion control. Controlling the amount on your plate controls the amount in the garbage. Start with a small serving and get seconds if you want them. Freeze food such as bread, sliced fruit, or meat that you know you won’t be able to eat in time. I chose to do my topic on wasting food after watching the fresh documentary. It made me realize food gest wasted so much when it really can be going to people who can't afford or really need it.

  3. Hi, Jazzmyn. You have some good content and ideas in your last 4 blog entries. You develop some of the ideas well, but you are too brief at other times. Keep working at analyzing and developing your content further to create more significance. Good visual appeal. Keep blogging!
